Over the January 2017 Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend, the combined group of St Elizabeth Seton, Society of St Vincent de Paul and Navy Seabees executed an action plan to build a sturdy wheelchair ramp for Ms. Lisa Horn, a parishioner.
Coordinating the entire event was Mr. Robert Wiederien for the parish Knights of Columbus with the assistance of Parish Council President, John Meadows, and Deputy Grand Knight Luke Brenner. The Navy Seabees provided additional guidance and manpower with significant financial assistance from the parish's Society of St Vincent de Paul, and a donation from Lowes Home Improvement Center in Gautier, MS, this project was completed in three days.
The project completion allowed Ms. Horn to return home from a lengthy stay at a local rehabilitation facility. Ms. Horn sent a very grateful note of thanks to our community.
Other volunteers included Wesley Winterstein, Irvin Pierce, Ken Meyer, Teagan Brenner, Douci Hoskins Porsche Giles, Carol Anne Hardy, Tim Holmes, Landsa Holmes (wife).
