Any child over the age of 2nd grade who has not celebrated the Sacraments of Reconciliation and/or Holy Eucharist are invited to Rite of Christian Iniation for Kids.
Please contact Talia LoCoco at the parish office for more information.
Our parish program of faith formation is designed to support and nurture the faith life of each family. We believe that, “parents are the first and foremost educators of their children [who] educate or catechize informally, but powerfully by example and instruction.” National Catechetical Dictionary.
On this pages, you will find specific information for classes aimed at children and youth. To learn more about adult opportunites, please visit the Adult Faith Formation page.
Who We Serve
We serve children of grade school level (Kindergarten through eleventh grade). Our focus is meant to offer many opportunities for families to share and grow in their faith together.
In this program, catechists help your children become disciples of Christ. Parents are encouraged to attend classes, meetings and social/formational events, in addition to participating in parish life with their children through Mass, prayers, and family events.
In the coming year, classes will be held beginning on Sunday mornings in August for grades Kindergarten through seventh and Wednesday nights for grades eighth through eleventh. Registration is available anytime online.
Who are our Catechists?
Catechists are volunteers who encourage children in their faith, while growing in their own. They are people just like you who don't have answers to everything but are willing to take the time to engage others in discovering who we are as Catholic people. During the course of the catechetical year, these teachers reap several benefits, including:
enlivening their own faith
the opportunity to nurture a group of children
joy and creativity
the opportunity to be a good steward of the Catholic faith
optional workshops that will help grow their faith and understanding
Would you like to be a catechist? Please contact our Director of Religious Education, Talia LoCoco, for more information at (228) 875-0654 or [email protected].
